The worlds most glamorous treasure hunt
“The very first Kinder Surprise” is how author Caroline Charron describes Faberge Eggs in this really fascinating article in Holiday magazine. The eggs are one of lifes intriguing mysteries and I was immediately drawn to read more. Between 1885 to 1916, Pierre-Carl Faberge created 50 Easter eggs for the Russian Imperial family but when World War I hit the precious objects went missing and there has been a hunt on ever since. Miraculously there are still some eggs not accounted for and with the story of the man who bought one in a flea market only to find out it was worth a fortune, make sure you keep your eyes peeled next time you’re at a car boot sale!
The article ‘The Greatest Egg Hunt’ is in the latest issue of Holiday and gives a really interesting insight into the history of the eggs and the hunt to find them all.
